31 Covid deaths in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered 31 more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Monday. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,394 with the latest figure.

Meanwhile, the country recorded 13,501 new infections, taking the total number of people infected to 1,798,833, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.

However, the current positivity rate dropped to 29.77 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.42 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.58 percent in the country, added the release.

Among the diseased, 16 were reported in the Dhaka division, two in Chattogram, five in Khulna, three each in Rangpur and Mymensingh division, and one each in Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions.

A total of 45,358 samples were tested across the country till 8am Monday. 

Some 2,568 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,568,213 people recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 87.18 percent.

As of Monday, 5,683,141, people died of Covid-19 across the world and 375,633,935 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
