Symbols have been allocated among 31 candidates who are contesting the elections to Senbagh, Sonaimuri and Chatkhil upazilas of the district in the second phase of the sixth upazila parishad polls.
Of them, 11 are chairman candidates, nine vice-chairman candidates and 11 women vice-chairman candidates.
The symbols were given to the candidates at a programme at the conference room of the district administration at 12:30pm on Thursday.
Additional deputy commissioner (overall) and returning officer Sharmin Ara, senior district election officer Md Naowabul Islam, additional superintendent of police (admin-finance) Bijoya Sen, candidates and their representatives, among others, were present on the occasion.
The elections to the three upazilas of the district will be held on May 21.
