Police have recovered 30 rounds of shotgun bullets that were snatched after an attack on a constable in Rajoir, Madaripur. The bullets were found early Thursday morning in the Kadambari area. Additional Superintendent of Police Jahangir Alam confirmed the recovery on Friday around 12:30 PM, stating that a case is being processed.

According to police and local sources, during the traditional Kumbh Mela organised by Ganesh Pagol Sebashram in Dighirpar, two constables Mehedi Hasan and Jubayer Hasan got into an altercation with gamblers. The constables were assaulted, and the attackers fled with 30 shotgun rounds. Police immediately launched an operation. Later, three individuals, including Sebashram committee president Miron Biswas, were taken for questioning. That night, both constables were withdrawn from duty.

Constable Mehedi confirmed departmental action against him but declined to provide further details. Jubayer could not be reached. ASP Jahangir stated the bullets were found abandoned and no arrests have been made yet.

The Kumbh Mela, a 150-year-old religious fair locally known as “Kamnar Mela,” started Wednesday and draws thousands of devotees. However, gambling, drug use, and obscene performances are common issues each year.
