In the last 24 hours, 188 samples have been tested in the PCR lab of Rangpur Medical College (RMC) and positive corona reports of 30 people from Rangpur, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat and Kurigram were found.
Among the new victims 20 are from Rangpur including a member of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, 21, a member of Rangpur police Lines, 31, and a staff nurse of Gangachara Hospital, 38.
This information was confirmed by Rangpur Medical College Principal Prof. Dr. AKM Nurunnabi Laiju on Saturday afternoon.
She said all the 188 samples were tested in two phases at the PCR lab of the microbiology department of RMC. Of them, 20 people were identified in Rangpur, 7 in Gaibandha, 2 in Lalmonirhat and 1 in Kurigram.
Meanwhile, according to the latest data from the PCR lab of RMC and the sample sent from Rangpur to Dhaka, the number of corona patients in Rangpur increased to 660. Of these, 311 have recovered from the infection while 12 people have died.
