30 illegal structures demolished, khas land recovered in Khulna

A total of 30 illegal structures have been demolished and at least 0.84 acres of government lands worth around Taka 5.04 crore was recovered on Monday at Fultala upazila in Khulna district.

The Department of Road and Highways (R & H) in cooperation with District Administration of Khulna and Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) conducted the drives at both the sides at Eastern Gate Bazar area under Fultala upazila.

Executive magistrates of District Administration Rubayet Ahmed and Mohewshar Mondal led the drives beginning from 9.00am on Monday, said Anisuzzaman Masud, Executive Engineer of the Department told BSS.

Around 30 illegal structures in both the sides of Khulna-Jashore Highway under Fultala upazila have been freed from illegal occupation, he said. The drives also recovered nearly 0.84 acres of land bulldozing 30 illegal structures, he said, adding that the drive will continue until the eviction of all illegal structures situated on both sides of the Khulna-Jashore Highway in completed.

Under the Government and Local Land Authority and Building (Recovery of Profession) Ordinance 1970 and Mobile Court Act -2009, the R & H D started the eviction drives on Monday, he added.

Government official including executive engineer of the R&H D Anisuzzaman Masud, State and Law Officer senior assistant secretary Md Emanur Rahman, among others, were present during the drive.
