30 Covid deaths in 24 hours

Bangladesh registered 30 more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Friday. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,524 with the latest figure.

The country recorded 9,052 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,844,828, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.

The current positivity rate stands 22.95 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.58 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.55 percent in the country, added the release.

Among the deaths, 17 were reported in the Dhaka division, five in Chattogram, three in Sylhet, two each in Rajshahi and Khulna, and one died in Barishal.

A total of 39,445 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday.

Some 6,228 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,587,374 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 86.04 percent.

As of Friday, 5,733,116 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 388,982,520 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
