30 Bandarban journalists receive PM's financial aid

Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing said the global corona epidemic has shaken the whole world. This epidemic still haunts us as we move the country forward. The Prime Minister is trying to keep the country standing on its own feet by providing incentives in every field including health, education and transport. 

He added, during the Corona period, the Prime Minister has stood by the pen soldiers journalists all over the country. 

The minister said these at the distribution of PM's financial assistance cheques among 30 journalists working in Bandarban, held at a private hotel in the district on Thursday.

In the first phase, organized by Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust and in collaboration with the Press Unit, the Minister as the chief guest distributed cheques of PM's financial assistance worth of Tk 10,000 to 30 journalists.

President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Riaz Haider Chowdhury presided over the function while, Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Mohsin Kazi was the special guest.Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Shamim Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Reza Sarwar and journalists working in various print and electronic media in Bandarban were present at the time. The Minister further said financial assistance of Tk 1 crore 69 lakh 25 thousand were provided to 199 journalists and journalists’ families in 2019-2020 FY from PM's fund.
