A mobile court sentenced three drug addicts to one-month imprisonment on the 30th anniversary of Narcotics Control Department in Thakurgaon on Thuesday afternoon.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Mamun sentenced these men by setting a mobile court. Police on information detained those addicts while publicly consuming cannabis from Matrigaon village on Mohammadpur union under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila
The convicts are Md. Jewel Ali, 20, son of Md. Jabeq Ali Md. Jabek Ali, Md. Kalu, 25, son of Akhter Ali, and Manik, 20, son of Mahbub Ali residents of Chanmaripara area in the town.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr KM Kamruzzaman Selim inaugurated the celebration of the 30th Founding Anniversary of Department of Narcotics Control by releasing pigeons and balloons in the town.
