3 smugglers held with 15,000 Yaba pills

Police arrested three people with 15,300 pieces of Yaba pills in a raid at Puichhari area under Banshkhali police station in Chattogram.  Two of the three arrestees are women. They were smuggling Yaba in Olakchu.

A team of Banshkhali police arrested them on Monday afternoon. A CNG autorickshaw used to transport Yaba was also seized.

The three arrestees are Ramisha Begum, 22, wife of Syed Qasim of Eidgarh Charpara area under Ramu police station of Cox's Bazar district, Zahura Begum, 50, wife of Nabi Hossain of Soazainya Para area under Chakaria police station and Mohammad Ahmed, 40, son of Ukil Ahmed of Sutipara area under Pekua police station.

Chittagong District Superintendent of Police  (SP) SM Rashidul Haque confirmed the matter.  They were carrying Yaba hidden in Olakchu as a tactic to evade the police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banshkhali Police Station Md Safiul Kabir said the houses of the three arrestees were in different areas of Cox's Bazar district.  Among them are two women.  A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
