UNB, Jashore:: Three members of a family were killed and three others injured when a private car slammed into a tree on Jashore-Magura Road at Gaidghat in Manirampur upazila of Jahsore district early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Zakaria Jony, 42, a businessman, his father Abdul Majid Sarkar, 74 and his four-year-old daughter Seherish of Manirampur upazila of the district.
The accident occurred around 2:30 am when the Jashore-bound private car carrying six people crashed into a Banyan tree as its driver lost control over steering, leaving two killed on the spot and four others injured, said Alamgir Kabir, officer-in-charge of Barobazar Highway Police.
The injured were taken to Jashore General Hospital where the doctors declared the minor girl dead.
The family met the tragic accident while returning to their residence in Jashore after attending a family programme in Chuadanga.
