Three more bodies have been recovered in the incident of trawler sinking due to the impact of bulkhead in Meghna River in Bhairab of Kishoreganj. Two dead bodies were recovered from the side of Syed Nazrul Islam bridge and one body from the Ashuganj power station in Bhairab end between 2 pm and 3 pm on Sunday. The bodies of six people were recovered in total. However, three more passengers of the trawler are still missing in this incident.
They are Mahmuda, daughter of missing police constable Sohel Rana, Rupa De of Kishoreganj and Anika, a college student of Belab upazila of Narsingdi. Deputy Director of Bhairav and Ashuganj Naval Port Rezaul Karim said that the divers have been on the rescue operation since morning for the second day.
Three bodies were found in the afternoon. Earlier the sunken trawler was recovered by BIWTA's rescue ship.
However, no one was found inside the trawler.
He also said that the naval police will hand over the recovered bodies to their relatives. In this incident, the rescue work for three people who are still missing will going on.
