Corona patients have been increasing rapidly in Chattagram. More than 200 people have been infected in the last 24 hours till Saturday. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram, blamed three major reasons for this.
He said the first reason is that many people have gained extra confidence with the vaccine that they will not be infected with corona.
The second reason is that no one is following the hygiene rules properly. Maintaining social distancing, using masks, washing hands, using hand sanitizers are some common health guidelines.
The third and last reason is weather. During this time the flu spreads more.
The Civil Surgeon said, "We have provided adequate medical services in the hospitals from the very beginning." We are ready to deal with the situation if more is needed.
Emphasizing on public awareness, he said that in fact, public awareness is very important in preventing corona. We are working on that.
Since the Corona cases have increased significantly in March, the mobile court is working. There is a meeting on March 22. There will be a decision about what to do next.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 37,440 people were infected. However, no one died at this time.
According to a report released by the Civil Surgeon's Office, 1,943 samples were tested in five labs in the port city.
Coronavirus was found in 998 samples from Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) in 53 cases and in 701 samples from 501 tests in Chittagong Medical College (CMC) lab.
Chittagong Maternal and Child Hospital Lab, 5 people tested positive for corona and in Chevron Clinical Laboratory, 17 people tested corona positive.
Among the new victims are 169 in the city and 31 in the upazilas.
