3 killed in road mishap in Ctg

Three persons were killed and three others including a child received injuries in separate road mishaps in the district Wednesday night.

The incidents occurred at Kumira and Salimpur on Dhaka-Chattogram highway under Sitakunda thana in the district at about 11 pm last night. The victims were identified as Mesbahuddin, 33, hailed from Mirsarai, Mohammad Abdullah, 35, hailed from Sitakunda and one unidentified women aged about 32 years.

Police said that a woman was run over by a speeding truck while she was crossing the road along with her five-year-old kid. The woman died on the spot and her child was seriously injured at Fakirhat area under Sitakunda upazila of the district at 11 pm. Meanwhile, three people were seriously injured when a private car collided head-on with a truck at Kumira in front of Gul Ahmed Jute Mills. Two critically injured car passengers were declared dead by the Upazila Health complex physician after admission. Saidur Rahman, Inspector of Kumira Highway Police confirmed the death of three persons.
