Three people were killed and 12 others injured in separate road accidents in the district on Wednesday.
Selim Badsha, Officer-in-Charge of Mohanpur Police Station, said one Asadul Islam, 38, son of Tazer Mondal of Hatra village, was killed on the spot and four others injured when a sand-laden truck knocked down their auto-rickshaw.
He said the accident occurred in Hatra area on Rajshahi-Naogaon highway around 11.30 in the morning. The injured persons were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Mahbubul Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Charghat Police Station, said a motorbike-rider and a van-puller were killed on the spot when they collided head-on in Baduria area under Charghat Upazila around 8.45 am.
The deceased were identified as Siam Ali, 18, son of Bulbul Hossain of Kazla area under Matiher Police Station in the city and Mazder Rahman, 56, son of late Noimuddin Ahmed of Helalpur village under Bagha Upazila.
Eight other persons were injured when their microbus rammed into a roadside wall in Kadirganj area
under Boalia Police Station in the city around 8.30 am.
Mazharul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Boalia Model Police Station, told BSS that the injured persons were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
