Police have arrested three individuals with possession of locally-made firearms while they were allegedly preparing to commit a robbery at Bandar area of Chattogram city.
The arrests took place during a raid conducted around 10:30 PM on Tuesday at Saltgola Crossing, under the jurisdiction of Bandar Police Station.
The detainees are Md. Jasim, 33, from Bhola district; Md. Ilias alias Ledu, 35, from Gundippara in Anwara upazila; and Arman Hossain alias Tushar, 28, from the Bandar area.
Bandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aftab Uddin confirmed the arrests, stating that legal proceedings are underway.
The suspects were produced before the court and subsequently sent to jail on Wednesday, added the OC.
