Detective Branch (DB North) of Dhaka Zila Police have arrested three with 12 kilogram of Cannabis (Gaza) by conducting a drive in Ashulia of Savar, on outskirts of the capital on Wednesday.
Mohammad Goni, Sub-inspector of DB North confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh Post on Thursday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Ashique 23, Faruk 30, and Shohel, 24. All hailed from Mathurapur village under Doulatpur police station of Kushtia district.
Mohammad Goni told this correspondent that, a team of DB Police led by Mohammad Goni, Sub-inspector of Dhaka zila DB (North) conducted an operation based on secret information at Sripur Bus-stand area of Ashulia in Savar, around 7:00 pm on Wednesday evening and arrested three men. After searched, police found 12 kilogram of illegal cannabis from them.
A case was filed with Ashulia police station in this regard and those arrestees were produced before a Dhaka court on Thursday morning, the official added.
