3 held for intruding into Indian territory

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Jhenidah arrested three Bangladeshi nationals including two women while they were allegedly trying to enter into neighboring India through Moheshpur border crossing in Jhenidah. They were arrested in the early hours of Saturday.

BGB 58 battalion assistant director Nazrul Islam Khan said the patrolling team of the BGB jowans of Baghadanga BOP camp had conducted a drive and arrested Mijanur Rahman, 35, son of Abdul Mabud of Baghadanga village in Moheshpur, Rekha Begum, 22. 

daughter of Abul Kalam of Kutuba village in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola and Sima Khatun, 17, daughter of Dulal Sarker of Gadkhali village of Jhikargachha upazila of Jashore.

BGB sources said the three were leaving Bangladesh territory to enter into India without any valid documents in the early hours. The arrestees were handed over to Jibannagar police station in Chuadanga after filing a case under Bangladesh Passport Act of 1973.
