The Consumer Rights Protection Department has fined three companies Tk 1 lakh for making ‘Semai’ in unsanitary conditions.
The operation was conducted in Rajakhali area of Bakolia police station of the city on Tuesday.
M/s Emran Semai Factory was fined 20 thousand taka, Rafiq Food Products was fined 60 thousand taka and Surya Semai Factory was fined 20 thousand taka.
Faiz Ullah, deputy director of Chattogram Divisional Office of the Department of Consumer Rights Protection, said that raids were conducted at Semai factory. It can be seen that the companies have produced Semai in an unhealthy environment.
So the three institutions were fined about 1 lakh rupees. Semai manufacturing companies are alerted.
Assistant Director of Consumer Rights Protection Department Chattogram Anisur Rahman, Assistant Director Rana Deb Nath assisted in the campaign.
