3-day Ekushey Book Fair inaugurated in Lakshmipur

A three-day long Ekushey Book Fair was inaugurated in Lakshmipur marking Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day on Saturday. 

Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner Anjan Chand Pal inaugurated the fair held in front of the District Collectorate building. 

Superintendent of Police Dr ASM Kamruzzaman, District Awami League President Golam Faruk Pingku and Assistant Deputy Commissioner Safiuzzaman Bhuiyan were present among others.

About twenty thousand books written by various writers on various topics including Language Movement and Liberation War is being displayed at more than a hundred stalls in the fair. 

Among other books, locally published journal "Lakshmipur Diary" by journalist Sanaula Sanu on the history of Lakshmipur is receiving special appreciation. People from all walks of life are visiting the fair. In the evening, a colourful cultural ceremony was held at the mukta mancha by district administration.
