3 Covid deaths in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered three more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Friday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,989 with the latest figure.

The country recorded 243 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,577,070, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.

The current positivity rate stands 1.40 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.41 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, added the release.

Among the deceased, two were male and one was female. Of the deceased, two were from Dhaka and one was from Khulna division. 

A total of 17,387 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday. 

Some 225 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,541,886 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.77 percent.

As of Friday, 5,253,416 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 264,621,492 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
