Coronavirus pandemic situation in the country has taken a worsening turn again. On top of that, vaccination drives in Bangladesh have come to a halt due to lack of doses. In this situation, it is good to note that Bangladesh will get 3.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine today which will help the government run its nationwide inoculation drive.

Experts opine that people need to wear masks, maintain physical distance and wash hands to prevent the spread of Covid-19 from person to person, even after getting vaccines. The coronavirus pandemic has already done massive damage to our country, and the light at the end of the tunnel has now emerged from the quick availability and distribution of a safe, effective vaccine.

It is important for our country

to continue widespread

vaccination drives

Although the government will receive these 3.6 million doses of vaccine, these are not enough for our population. And we still do not know how long these vaccines will give us immunity against the virus. Therefore, we need to procure more vaccines as soon as possible from reliable sources. Government can also explore options to produce vaccines in the country.

We know that the vaccination drive is really pivotal in decreasing the rate of new infections and deaths, which will ultimately lead us to ending the pandemic. We are still far away from vaccinating the maximum number of people in the country.

Therefore, it is vital for our country to continue widespread vaccination drives or else the longer there will be delays, the longer pandemic will sustain.
