2nd Coronavirus test lab starts operation at RMCH

A second laboratory to test Coronavirus has been set up at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. A polymer Chain Reaction machine has also been set up at the laboratory of check samples of infectious germs. 

President of the Board of Directors of RMCH Fazley Hossain Badsha MP visited the hospital on Monday noon and observed the progress of installation of the laboratory. he also met with Brigadier General jamilur Rahman, Director of RMCH and learnt that the second  laboratory is ready for operation and testing of samples of Coronavirus patients will be started there soon ( Tuesday).

Fazley Hossain Badsha informed to the journalists that RMCH is a reliable place for treatment of the patients of Northern region and that is why he was working to increase its capacity. The second Laboratory will test an increasing number samples of suspected Corona patients, he said. 

He wished no one is attacked with any disease and every one is safe and with good health.

Dr. Saiful Ferdous, Deputy Director of RMCH informed, installation of all sort of machineries for the second Corona testing laboratory has been completed. The test of samples from suspected Coronavirus patients is likely to start in full fledge from Tuesday.   

It is learnt, the first Cornavirus testing laboratory has been installed at RMCH on April-1 where samples of 94 patients are being tested daily. According to the deirctives of RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Fazley Hossain Badsha MP, the tests of the virus has been started in two shifts from Sunday with tewsting of samples of 188 patients. Now, the second laboratory being set up, more tests will be conducted here regularly. 

It is learnt, the first Cornavirus patient was detected in Rajshahi on April-12. From then, a total of 17 Coronavirus patients have been detected in the district till Monday last. 

One of Coronavirus patient of Bagha Upazila  died at Infectious Disease Hospital in Rajshahi.  The Coronavirus test result from samples collected from his body found positive before his death but after his death the test results of samples collected from his body found negative. Rajshahi Metrpolitan area is still free from Cornavirus infection.
