284 schools in Chatmohar reopen today

A total of 284 schools in Chatmohar upazila are opening from today. Schools were shut down for more than a year and half due to nationwide lockdown.  

Meanwhile, upazila administration of Chatmohar was uncertain as severe flood submerged more than 30 schools. 

But as the water level is lowering down for last one week, almost all schools are ready to open from today (September 12).

Upazila Education Officer Khandakar Mahbubur Rahman said that Chatmohar upazila has a total of 155 schools in the area. Several schools were submerged due to floodwater. 

However, water level is decreasing and all the schools are ready to be operational.   

Upazila secondary education Officer Magreb Ali said that 87 educational institutions including secondary schools, madrassas and technical institutes are fully prepared to take classes. There is no need to worry about opening schools anymore. He mentioned that he already visited several schools and inspected some of them to see how they are being cleaned and prepared for taking classes.

Upazila administration said that there are 42 kindergarten schools in Chatmohar. 

Inter-upazila Kinder­garten Association General Secretary Abdur Rahman stated that all the kindergarten institutions are fully prepared to take classes from Sunday.
