As many as 27 tin-shed houses were burnt to ashes on in Konabari area of Gazipur city on Sunday.
The fire broke out at the houses owned by Shambhu Sarkar where mostly garment workers lived in.
Most the tenants were not at home when the fire broke out.
On information, fire service rushed to the spot and doused the flame with the help of the locals after an hour.
One of the affected tenants said He said that the fire started due to the leakage in gas connection,
They had told the landlord many times but the leak was not repaired, the tenants added.
Officer-In-Charge of Konabari Police Station Khasru visited the spot.
