26 homeless families get PM gift houses in Bairag Ashrayan project

Tofazzal Hossain Mia, senior secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, said that the landless and homeless families would get the courage to live well and learn to dream by getting the gift house of the Prime Minister.  They are very happy to receive the gift.

 He made the remarks at an exchange meeting after inspecting the Bairag Ashrayan project in Anwara on Saturday.

 Earlier, he visited the Bairag Ashrayan project in Guapanchak Mouza of Bairag Union of the upazila.  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered greetings to 26 families.

 He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dreamed of the Ashrayan project in 1972.  Following this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina started work on this project in 1997.  He is using his talent, labour and skills to implement this project for the welfare of the people with us.  Above all, he is composing a new history in the history of the world.

 He said Bangladesh is going to make a history in the history of the world by implementing the project 'No one will be landless and homeless in the country in the year of Mujib' under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.  And through the tireless efforts and unity of all of us by successfully completing the Ashrayan-2 project, we will be able to build the golden Bengal of the dream of the father of the nation.

 Prime Minister's greetings were given to 26 families.  Each family was given 10 kg of rice, 2 kg of pulses, 2 kg of sugar, 2 kg of gram, 2 liters of oil, 1 packet of semai.

 The meeting was chaired by Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Ashraf Uddin and conducted by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sheikh Jobayer Ahmed.

 Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Dr. Prakash Kanti Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Nazmul Ahsan, Additional District Magistrate Sumni Akter, Additional Deputy Commissioner (LA) Masud Kamal, Bairag Union Parishad Chairman Nowab Ali, Upazila Awami League President MA Mannan spoke on the occasion.

 A total of 36 families are being sheltered in three phases under the Bairag Ashrayan project.  A total of 26 houses have already been constructed, including 15 in the first phase and 11 in the second phase.  In the third phase, 10 houses are under construction.
