Bangladesh Human Rights Commission (BHRC) has launched free 24-hour ambulance services in of Chattogram city to ease the suffering of the patients amid the nationwide lockdown due to the growing coronavirus outbreak.
Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir inaugurated the service on Monday afternoon. Anyone can avail the service by making a call to the BRCH’s numbers -- 01617445544, 01718218415, 01712823721, and 01519702020.
The ambulance, however, will not carry patients suspected for coronavirus as it requires special facilities to avoid contracting from the virus.
Besides, the BRCH distributed 5,000 masks and 2,000 sanitizers in the port city. BRCH Greater Chittagong Regional Branch President and Senior Deputy Governor Aminul Haque Babu, Deputy Governor Mashiul Alam Swapan, Vice-president Mohsin Bhuiyan, Joint Secretary Masud Parvez, Health Affairs secretary Dr Deepak Barua, and Mashiur Rahman Imran, among others, were present at the inauguration.
