24 BNP men arrested in Ctg sabotage case

Two cases of vandalism have been registered against the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations in connection with the clash between the leaders and activists of the Jubo Dal-Chatra Dal and the activists of the College Chhatra League in front of Chattogram College and later the vandalism of Bangabandhu's mural in Jamal Khan.  Police have arrested 24 activists in the case.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) ASM Mahtab Uddin gave this information at a press conference at CMP's media center at Dampara in the city on Thursday.

 He said that a case has been filed in the name of 250 unidentified people, mentioning the names of 78 people in Kotwali police station in the case of vandalism of tampered, glass, murals containing still images of colourful political life of Bangabandhu painted on various walls in Jamal khan area of Kotwali police station of the city.  The accused will be arrested after reviewing the CCTV footage.

 He said that a case has been filed in Chowkbazar police station in the name of 250 unknown people, mentioning the names of 60 people in the vandalism incident in front of the gate of Chattogram College.  The city's Kotwali, Chawkbazar, Bakolia, Chandgaon and Metropolitan Intelligence Department conducted raids on Wednesday night and arrested 24 people.
