A total of 210 women of Habiganj received sewing machines to change their socio-economic condition.
Habiganj District Awami League President and local MP Advocate Md Abu Zahir distributed the sewing machines at a distribution ceremony as the chief guest held at the district council auditorium on Saturday.
Habiganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ayesha Akhter presided over the event, while General Secretary of Mohila League District unit Aleya Akhtar, Local Government Engineering Directorate (LGED) Sadar Upazila Engineer Md Mizanur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Awami League President M A Motalib and its General Secretary Abdur Rahman, among others, were present.
Advocate Md Abu Zahir said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is implementing multifaceted measures to make backward women self-reliant.
The sewing machine was provided to women from the special allocation of the lawmaker.
