Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Sunday expressed hope that 20 percent more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) will come in 2023 than last year.
" I strongly believe that FICCI is working to fulfill the dreams of the father of the nation, building the country and developing business and economic infrastructure. We anticipate this continuous development to persist in the future.”, Minister added
He was addressing the inauguration of Investment Expo 2023 and 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Foreign Investors Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on Sunday.
The two-day event and expo were inaugurated at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden by the Honorable Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, MP.
At the event, the PM also unveiled a research book titled, "Catalyzing Greater FDI for Vision 2041: Priorities for Building a Conducive Tax System in Bangladesh" and another ESG publication titled "ESG Strategies and Impact from the Members of FICCI."
Speaking at the event, Salman F Rahman, MP, Private Industry, and Investment Adviser to the HPM, stated, “Our future expectations from FICCI members are quite simple. The future you envision should help Bangladesh be a major player in the fourth Industrial Revolution, create employment and upscale talent, while driving sustainable Investments.”
Naser Ezaz Bijoy, President of FICCI said, “The members of FICCI are like birds, symbol of peace, who found their nests in Bangladesh and hence shared affection and sense of belongingness towards the country like Bangabandhu had narrated. Following the inauguration, a session titled 'Green Value Chain' was conducted, featuring Chief Guest Abul Kalam Azad, Co-Chair of Smart Bangladesh Network and Former Principal Secretary, Former Principal Coordinator (SDGs), Prime Minister's Office, and Keynote Speaker Professor Imran Rahman, Vice Chancellor, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.
