Bangladesh registered 203 deaths due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Tuesday. 12 thousand 198 people have been newly infected in a day.
The total number of deaths has increased to 16 thousand 842 people. And the total number of identities increased to 10 lakh 47 thousand 155.
The information was given in a regular press release on Tuesday sent by the DGHS.
According to the Department of Health, samples were collected from 43,631 people in 24 hours till Tuesday morning. 41 thousand 755 have been tested. The detection rate stood at 29.21 pc compared to the sample test.
So far, a total of 70 lakh 56 thousand 989 samples have been tested in the country. Compared to the total test, the detection rate is 14.84pc.
During this time, 7,646 people recovered from the virus. So far, a total of 889,167 people recovered from Covid.
Of the fatalities, 61 were from Dhaka. 53 people died in Khulna, 30 in Chattogram, 27 in Rajshahi, 5 in Barisal, 5 in Sylhet, 15 in Rangpur and 7 in Mymensingh.
Among the dead, 132 were men and 71 women. 14 of them died at home and the rest died at several hospitals. So far, the total number of deaths due to the virus is 11,782 men and 5,060 women.
The age-based analysis showed that 118 of those who died in the last day were over 60 years of age. There are also 39 people aged from 51 to 60, 28 people aged 41 to 50, 12 people aged 31 to 40 and 6 people aged 21 to 30.
