200 tonnes rice distributed for Puja Mandaps in Kishoreganj

 The government has allotted about 200 tonnes of rice for distribution among the 399 Puja Mandaps, at 13 upazilas in Kishoreganj district on Durga Puja.

Kishoreganj District Relief and Disaster Management office sources said that a total 32 Metric tonnes of rice were distributed for 64 puja mandaps of Kishoreganj Sadar upazila, while 8.5 tonnes for 17 puja mandaps of Hossainpur upazila, 7.5 metric tonnes for 15 puja mandaps at Pakundia upazila, 22 metric tonnes for 44 puja mandaps at Katiadi upazila, 5.5 metric tonnes for 11 puja mandaps at Karimganj upazila, eight metric tonnes for 16 puja mandaps at Tarail upazila, 17 metric tonnes for 34 puja mandaps at Itna upazila, eight metric tonnes for 16 puja mandaps at Mitamain upazila, 23.5 metric tonnes for 47 puja mandaps at Austagram upazila, 7.5 metric tonnes for 15 puja mandaps at Nikli upazila, 33 metric tonnes for 66 puja mandaps at Bajitpur upazila, 16.5 Metric tonnes for 33 puja mandaps at Kuliarchar upazila and 10.5 metric tonnes of rice were distributed for 21 puja mandaps at Bhairab upazila.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer (DRRO) of  Kishoreganj Md. Mokarram Hossain said that in the meantime rice distribution was completed and each puja mandaps got 500 kgs of rice. He also said that the government had allocated the rice for the Puja Udjapon Committees of 399 Puja Mandaps to assist the Hindu Community in celebration of Duraga Puja in a befitting manner.
