About 200 kgs of jatka (fish) brought in a pickup van from Dighirpar was seized in Aldibazar area of Tongibari upazila in Munshiganj on Monday morning.
Local people and journalists seized the jhatka. Later Tongibari Fisheries Officer Mosa Nigar Sultana was informed in the presence of local mayor, local people and journalists. After some time, Mizanur Rahman, Field Assistant of Tongibari Fisheries Office arrived at the scene. All the seized Jhatkas were handed over to Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom Madrasa in Qathadia.
Tongibari Fisheries Office Field Assistant Mizanur Rahman, Kathadia Shimulia 1st Ward Member Shyamal Gazi, local people and journalists were present.
In this regard, Tongibari Fisheries Office Officer Mosa Nigar Sultana said, “I received the news of Jatka seizure in Aldi Bazar area around 8:30 am. My office staff was sent immediately after receiving the news. About 200 kgs of jhatka seized on the spot was distributed to the local madrassa. And those involved in this work are given strict warning not to do such work in future.
