A total of 13 candidates collected nomination forms on Wednesday for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) elections, including three for the vice-president (VP) post and 10 for other positions.
Chief Election Commissioner Prof Dr Mohammad Jasim Uddin disclosed this during a press briefing in front of his office on the third floor of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building on Wednesday afternoon.
He said seven aspirants, including two VP candidates, collected forms on Tuesday. So far, four candidates have submitted their nomination papers.
Moreover, over the past two days 18 nomination forms have been collected from 18 dormitories for the hall union polls.
Responding to a question, he said objections raised by student organisations over the posts of Ducsu president and treasurer have been resolved in line with the constitution, leaving no scope for the commission’s intervention.
No allegations of code of conduct violations have been reported yet, he added.
