20,000 distressed families in Rajshahi city to get rice, pulses

Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has announced to distribute 10 kilogrames of rice and 500 grammes of pulse each to some 20,000 distressed families living in the city during the coronavirus crisis period. These rice and pulse will be distributed through local ward councillors.

The Mayor announced to distribute the rice and pulse at an emergency meeting held at the hall room of RCC on Friday evening.  Mayor Liton in the meeting further said, RCC was working tirelessly to keep residents of Rajshahi safe. 

He said, RCC has tekenup various steps to contain spread of Corona Virus. the steps include formation of coordination committee in 30 wards of RCC, supplying of food during emergency period, making of 20,000 masks and distributing those, measure to wash hands with sanitizer in 27 city points, training of 300 health workers, distribution of leaflets, miking and publicity about fatality and awareness about Corona virus through cable networks and digital display boards. 

The meeting was attended, among others, by Shariful Islam Babu, ward councillor and Panel Mayor-1, Rajab Ali, ward councillor and Panel Mayor-2, Chief Executive Officer Dr. ABM Sharifuddin, PS of Mayor Alamgoir Kabir, Executive Magistrate Samar Kumar Paul, Chief Health Officer Dr.AFM Anjuman Ara Begum and Chief Conservation Officer Sheikh Mamun.
