The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has issued a strict warning regarding the security and confidentiality of public examination answer scripts. The board stated that any breach of confidentiality would be treated as a punishable offence under existing laws.
The warning came in an official letter signed on Saturday by Professor S. M. Kamal Uddin Haider, Controller of Examinations of the Dhaka Education Board. Copies of the letter were distributed to the chief examiners and examiners of all educational institutions affiliated with the board.
The letter states that answer scripts of public examinations are confidential documents and are considered a sacred responsibility of the chief examiners and examiners. Assigning evaluation tasks — such as filling in marks or completing assessment — to anyone other than the assigned examiners, including students or family members, is a violation of Section 10 of the 1980 Public Examination Conduct Act (Act No. 42).
If proven, such violations may lead to imprisonment for up
to two years, fines, or both.
The letter further advises chief examiners and examiners to maintain strict confidentiality in evaluating and preserving public exam answer scripts.
