In Lakshmipur, 3 people including a UP Chairman died of coronavirus while 1 other died with corona like symptoms on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Shahjahan Kamal, 62, Organizing secretary of Raipur Upazila AL unit and Chairman of Keroa Union Parishad, Ahmed Ullah, 65, of Dalal Bazar Paschim Ladhipur in Sadar upazila, Golam Karib, 80, of East Kazirkhil village in Ramganj upazila and Nirmal Banik, 65, of Nandanpur village in Ramganj upazila.
So far 67 people have died in the district of corona infection and corona like symptoms. However, the district health department has recorded 25 deaths due to corona infection.
26 more people in the last 24 hours were infected with corona virus in Lakshmipur. Of these, 22 are in Sadar upazila, 3 in Raipur and 1 in Ramganj upazila.
Among the new corona patients there are 3 journalists, 2 police men, 1 health worker and 1 firefighter.
Meanwhile, BNP leader UP Chairman AKM Fazlur Rahman Dulal has died of corona infection at Chirirbandar in Dinajpur, while undergoing treatment at M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.
AKM Fazlur Rahman was the current Chairman of Chirirbandar No. 2 Satnala Union and joint convener of Upazila BNP unit. Dinajpur District Civil Surgeon Abdul Quddus confirmed the news.
