Police arrested two students of Rajshahi University for allegedly raping an admission seeker. The arrestees were identified as Jahid Hasan Shovon of Public Administration department and Torun Kundo of Sociology department of the university.
Police picked up both students from Shah Mukhdum Hall on Wednesday night. On Thursday, a court sent them to jail after police produced them before it, Officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station Masud Parvez told Bangladesh Post.
The victim’s father sued the duo under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on allegation of raping her daughter, he said. One of the accused used to tutor the girl. He took her somewhere in Kazla area and raped her there with the help of the other accused, the OC said citing case statement.
