Bangladesh Coast Guard’s Inani station members detained two Rohingya drug peddlers with 6,000 pieces of yaba tablets hidden inside a jackfruit from Madarbunia Chepatkhali area under Ukhia police station in Cox's Bazar on Saturday.
The detainees are identified as Mohammad Rashidullah, 19, son of late Maqbool Ahmed of Block 26 of Balukhali Rohingya Camp and Mohammad Rashid Ahmed, 23, son of late Fazal Ahmed of the same camp.
They have used this fancy method to smuggle the seized yaba tablets to remote areas of the country. The detainees and the seized yaba pills were later handed over to Ukhia police station for farther legal action.
In the areas covered by the Bangladesh Coast Guard, the Coast Guard adopts a zero tolerance policy to control law and order, public safety as well as piracy, anti-robbery, drug control and illegal entry, regular operations continue and will continue in the future.
