2 Rohingyas detained for trespassing to India

Immigration police detained two Rohingyas for allegedly trespassing to India via check post of Akhaura landport in Brahmanbaria on Thursday noon.

According to their passport information, arrested people were, Md. Kamal (24), son of Md. Harun from Boutisa village of Chauddagram upazila of Comilla district, and Sabbir Mollah (22), son of Ali Hossain from Kalanpur village, Sadar upazila of Rajbari district.

Akhaura Immigration Police Officer-in-Charge, Abdul Hamid said that the two youths were trying to go to India through the Akhaura land port checkpost. Their passports were endorsed by Indian and Myanmar visas.

We usually ask passenger of their name and address. But they didn’t reply properly while asked them the same. Moreover, they could not speak properly as their language seemed suspicious. So, we arrested both of them. 

How they managed Bangladeshi passport and Indian visa, we can’t tell you right now. They were handed over to the Akhaura police station.
