2 Rohingya ‘yaba traders’ detained

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) detained two Rohingya 'yaba trader' along with 30,000 pieces of contraband yaba in a drive in Cox’s Bazar on Monday.

The detainees were identified as Md Nayeem, 20 and Rabi Alom, 27 both are the son of Myanmar citizen late Abdul Goffar and hailed from MeyurKul village under Pakthu Police Station of Myanmar.

Acting on a tip-off, BCG members conducted a drive in a wooden boat at Nuniachora Fisheries Ghat area in Cox's Bazar, which was coming from Myanmar. At that time, two Rohingyas were held after searching the wooden boat. Media officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard (east zone) Lt. Shah Zia Rahman confirmed the matter. The seized yaba pills and Rohingyas were sent to Cox's Bazar Police Station for taking further procedure.
