2 robbers killed in gunfight at Cox’s Bazar

Multiple robbers had a gunfight with members of Rapid Action battalion(RAB) in the hilly area of Teknaf in Cox's Bazar. During the gunfight, 2 robbers named Kefayet Ullah and Korban Ali Prakash Shafiq who are notorious drug lords were killed.

The incident took place in the early hours of Fridayin the Damdamia hills of Hnila Union in Teknaf. Meanwhile, RAB recovered 20,000 yaba, foreign pistols and ammunition from the spot.

Detailed identities of the slain robbers Sardar Kefayet Ullah and Korban Ali Prakash Shafiq, were not immediately available. However, there are multiple cases against them under the Narcotics and Weapons Act.

Confirming the matter, Cox's Bazar RAB-15 Assistant Director (Media) ASP Nityanandan Das said that the RAB went on an operation on Friday morning on the news that a gang of robbers with drugs and weapons was stationed at Damdamia hill. Sensing the position of the expedition, the bandits started firing. The RAB also fired back in self-defense. The bodies of robbers Kefayet Ullah and Korban Ali Prakash Shafiqer were found at the spot. A search of the scene turned up 20,000 yaba, two pistols and ammunition.
