2 PCJSS men shot dead in Rangamati

Two activists of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) were shot to dead by the unidentified armed terrorists at Gorjaniya are in Wagga union under Kaptai upazila of Rangamati early hours of Wednesday. 

The deceased were identified as Suvas Tanchangya, 45, son of late Kalachan Tanchangya of village Sakyongpara in Rajosthatli upazila and Dhananjoy Tanchangya, 32, son of Ranjit Karbari in Gorjania village in Wagga union. Suvas was living with his family at Kathaltolipara in same union for long. Both of they were active members of PCJSS. 

Quoting locals, Kaptai police said a gang of armed miscreants came to at two adjacent Gorjniya and Kathaltoli villages at dead of night around at 3:00am. They (criminals) shot the duo by going to their respective houses when they were in a deep sleep. Later the assailants fled away after confirming the death of the two from the scenes. 

Additional police super in Kaptai circle Junayed Kawsar told the newsmen that the killing incident might have taken place due to the reason of establishing supremacy in the area amongst the rival groups of regional political parties. 

“Our police recovered the dead bodies and sent those to Rangamati General Hospital for autopsy on that day. Several bullet wounds were found in the dead bodies,” said Nasir Uddin, officer in-charge of Kaptai police station. Nobody came to our police to file case, adds Nasir.
