2 NSTU students make it to top 10 in Budget Olympiad

Two students of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) have placed in top 10 winners in the final round of Budget Olympiad

The two finalists are Ridoy Mojumder and Ashraf Uddin, students of NSTU’s Economics department, organisers said on Wednesday.

According to the organisers, the competition was held virtually this year due to coronavirus pandemic. 

More than 4000 candidates participated in the competition with 100 making it to the final round.

The final of the competition was held on December 21 and the names of the winners were announced.

Former governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Salehuddin Ahmed was present at the chief guest.

Director of Center and Policy of Dhaka University Prof Kazi Maruful Islam, Director of ActionAid Bangladesh Asgar Ali Sabri, Director of CARE Bangladesh Amanur Rahman, Secretary of Democratic Budget Movement Monwar Mostafa, Joint Secretary of Democratic Budget Movement Mina Sumon and members of the Budget Olympiad Organizing Committee. Budget Olympiad is a national contest for young and students to popularise and stimulate the national budgetary issue.

ActionAid Bangladesh, Democratic Budget Movement and Participatory Research Action Network-Pran has been organising the event since 2017.
