Two minor boys drowned in two separate incidents in Thakurgaon.
The deceased were identified as Imran, son of late Jambu Islam of Kumarpur Basirpara village in Balia union and Ismail Ranigandhsadhar, son of Rubel Islam of Namazpara village.
Ismail drowned in Raniganj Namazpara area on Tuesday afternoon and Imran drowned in Bhulli river in Balia union in the evening.
Rajagaon UP Chairman Mosharul Islam Sarkar said the water level of Raniganj Sluicegate Dam had risen after a few days of rain. On Tuesday afternoon, Ismail fell into the water of the dam next to the house and drowned. The body of the child was later found floating in the water of the dam.
On the other hand, on Tuesday afternoon, Imran went down into the Bhulli river to collect water. Imran fell into the river and drowned. Locals recovered his body floating at one stage of the search. Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station (OC) Tanvirul Islam confirmed the incident
