Farmers have prepared 1,94,273 Qurbani animals including cows, goats, sheep and buffaloes in Dinajpur, the centre of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, which will help to meet the needs of the district. The district has 59,253 cattle which are more than the demand.

"The cattle are ready for sale in Dinajpur district for Tk 700 crore," said District Animal Resources Officer Dr Md Shahinur Alam.

Meanwhile, farmers are worried about the sale of cows and fair prices due to the Corona epidemic on the Eid-ul-Azha since many professionals in Corona have lost their income.

However, the district animal resources department has opened a Facebook page in the district called 'Online Animal Market, Dinajpur'. Online shopping has been arranged in various districts.

The animal resources office has recommended that the cows be fattened by feeding rice, grass, etc. Some are raising cows in the open field. But they are still worried about the situation. The buyers can't come from outside. The foreign traders who are coming are offering low prices.

Meanwhile, the increase in the price of beef has made our cows more expensive than ever before.

Hakimpur Upazila Prana Resources Officer Dr Abdus Samad said that the biggest problem for the farmers of the time is marketing. “That's why we have opened a group page from our office.

It uploads pictures of the animals, the weight and the mobile number of the farmers. Buyers can buy animals at  home by talking to the concerned farmers. We think that both the farmers and the buyers will benefit from this,” he said.

Dinajpur District Animal Resources fficer Dr Md Shahinur Alam said that there are 1,94,273 cows and buffalors and 72,409 goats and sheep.

In Dinajpur, the upcoming Eid requires about 85,368 cows and 49,652 goats and sheep. More than 60,000 animals are being prepared for sale in small farms and homes, just ahead of Qurbani.

He added that all cattle markets in Corona are being monitored so that no sick cattle are sold. This is why 23 medical teams have been set up in the district and work has been started. There are already a variety of suggestions and monitoring to raise awareness of the buyer.
