Covid-19 virus has been found in the body of a deceased person at Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj as two unions of the upazila have been lock downed, health officials said. He came to his home in Jangalbari Muslimpara village of Karimganj upazila from the capital Dhaka and died on Monday night (April 6).
Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon Md Mujibur Rahman confirmed the matter on Tuesday. He said, "We have been confirmed from Dhaka that the person who died at Jangalbari Muslimpara village in Karimganj upazila tested Covid-19 positive. The man (45) used to run a grocery shop in Dhaka, who hailed from Junglebari Muslimpara of Karimganj upazila. He returned to his village home on April 6.
He was suffering from fever and cough. Samples were collected from the body of the person suspected of dying of corona virus infection on April 6. Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mujibur Rahman said that, after taking the sample test report, the persons involved in the burial of the deceased were taken to quarantine and the persons who came in contact with him were also identified.
Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Sarwar Murshed Chowdhury said two unions-- Kadirjangal and Jafarabad of Karimganj upazila-- were locked down.
