2 killed in separate road accidents in Ishwardi

Two people were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Ishwardi, Pabna, on Thursday.

The first accident occurred around 6:30am at the Bot-tola junction in Arankola, when two goods-laden lorries collided head-on. Sabuj Islam (43), the driver of one of the lorries, died at the scene. The injured, all lorry helpers, were identified as Md. Imon (22) of Pabna, Ashraful Islam (27) of Munshiganj, and Babu Mia (30) of Faridpur. One of the injured was later transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Md. Ali Sumon of the Ishwardi Fire Service confirmed that the lorries were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred. The deceased’s body was taken to the Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex for legal formalities.

At around 1:30pm, a second fatal collision took place in Gopalpur, Arambaria, on the Ishwardi-Lalpur road. A motorcycle and a bicycle collided, killing Dibya Kundu (22), son of Pijush Kundu from Dhapari village. Ishwardi Police Station OC Abdun Nur confirmed the incident.
