At least two people were killed when a maize-laden truck ran over them on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road at Charanipara in Nandail upazila in Mymensingh on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Abdur Rashid, 72, and Sirajul Islam, 56, of the upazila.
The accident took place when the truck hit a pedestrian and a cyclist at about 6:00am, leaving them dead on the spot. Police seized the truck but could not arrest its driver. Toufiqul Islam Towhid, officer-in-charge of Nandail highway police station, confirmed the matter.
