2 JMB militants held in Savar

RAB-3 members detained two active militants of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) conducting separate drive at Savar and Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital on Thursday.

The detainees were identified as Ahsan Habib, 27, son of Nikbar Sheikh of Rajbari Sadar Police Station area and Alamgir Hossain, 27, son of Abdus Sattar of Khamarvopla area under Thakurgaon’s Sadar Police Station area.

Confirming the matter, Savar model police station Inspector (Investigation) Saiful Islam said, both detainees were handed over to them by RAB, and a case has been filed against them with the police station.

RAB sources said, they detained Ahsan Habib from Karnapara area in Savar based on secret information and later, Alamgir from Kundolbag area of Ashulia following Habib’s information. They found 50 pages of Jihadi book in PDF and screenshot format searching their mobile phones.

It is learned that, Ahsan Habib was arrested earlier for the same allegation in 2017. Later, he became involved in militant activities again being released on bail.
