A mobile court has jailed and fined two Homoipathic doctors and the owners of Bhuiyan Homoeo Hall for selling rectified spirits violating health guidelines in Harirampur of Manikganj district.
Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Horirampur Upazila, Billal Hossain conducted the mobile court and sentenced to imprisonment and fined on Thursday afternoon
The convicts are- Dr Abdul Quader, son of Alim Hossain of Ujanpara village and Dr Ashraf Uddin Mollah, son of Afsar Uddin Mollah of Sakhini village in Harirampur of Manikganj district.
Saiful Islam, an inspector of anikganj district drug control department, said the convicts had been selling rectified spirits at the homeo shop for a long time.
On the basis of secret information, 12 bottles of 100 ml rectified spirit were also seized from the shop.
Later, the Magistrate of the mobile court sentenced them to 6 months imprisonment and fined them Tk 5,000 each.
